F.A.Q.s

What should I expect from my first appointment?

Your first appointment will generally take about one hour. Our therapists will conduct an initial examination of your condition and will recommend a course of treatment. You will also receive a detailed explanation of your condition and in most cases will include some treatment at the end of the assessment.

What should I wear for my appointment?

You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that will allow exposure of the affected area.

Is my physiotherapy treatment covered by OHIP?

No. We are a private facility who is unable to provide OHIP services. Major cuts have been made to OHIP funded physiotherapy. Currently those covered are of the ages 20 and under or 65 and above or if you have received any recent surgery. To find out more about OHIP funded clinics please visit the Canadian Physiotherapy Association

I have private health insurance. Am I covered for physiotherapy?

Most plans cover physiotherapy. We recommend that you contact your plan provider for complete details. Every extended health plan is different, and physiotherapy coverage varies greatly.

Do you do direct billing?

Currently we are able to bill Major insurance. We also provide direct billing for WSIB and Motor Vehicle accident claims. All other extended health care plans do not offer direct billing for physiotherapy. If you are not covered for direct billing it is our policy to pay as you go and get reimbursed by your extended health provider.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No, a doctor’s referral is not required to see our therapists. We do recommend, however, that you communicate with your doctor about your participation in our services so that we can work together and share knowledge as required during your treatment. Please also note that some health plans require a doctor’s referral before they will reimburse you for physiotherapy, massage and osteopathy expenses.

Where are you located?

Please see our contact page for address and map.

How long do follow up appointments take?

Follow up treatment sessions vary in duration. The treatment time will depend on the nature of your injury and you and your physiotherapist will determine what would be the most ideal for you. Sessions can last anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour.

My doctor gave me a referral to another physiotherapy clinic. Can I choose which clinic I would like to go to?

Absolutely. Even though your doctor has suggested another clinic you can make your own decision as to where you receive your treatment. Please make sure that you are seeing a registered physiotherapist. All of our physiotherapists or registered with the college of physiotherapists of Ontario.
