Leigh Cahais is a registered Osteopathic Manual Practitioner with OSTCAN, bringing a strong background in osteopathy, kinesiology, fitness, and sports care to IAM Physiotherapy Clinic.

Leigh completed her four-year osteopathic education at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO), an intensive program encompassing approximately 4,200 hours of education and training, including more than 1,000 hours of supervised hands-on clinical experience. Her education provided an in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and the interconnected relationship between the body’s structure and function.

In addition to her osteopathic training, Leigh holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Diploma in Health and Fitness Promotion from the University of Guelph-Humber. This combination gives her a strong understanding of human movement, exercise, injury prevention, and the physical demands of everyday life and sport.

Leigh also has extensive experience working in athletics. She has spent the past four years as a hockey trainer and continues to pursue her passion for sports care with the Georgina Ice Jr. C hockey team. Her experience working with athletes has strengthened her understanding of performance, recovery, injury management, and the importance of keeping the body moving efficiently.

Leigh takes an individualized, hands-on approach to care. She looks beyond the area of discomfort to understand how different parts of the body may be contributing to a person’s symptoms or movement limitations. Treatment is tailored to each client’s needs, lifestyle, activity level, and goals.
